| 内容記述 | This study focuses on the training of homeroom teachers as English teaching instructors in elementary schools, following up on my previous study in 2005. First, in order to clarify the content of training, the latest aims of teaching English for elementary school students notified by the consultative committee of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2007 is illustrated and the required abilities of elementary teachers to teach English are discussed. Next, the workshops for elementary school teachers to teach English, held at Kagoshima Immaculate Heart University in 2006, are mentioned as an example of teacher training. Finally, some suggestions are given for improving the system of training elementary school teachers, which started operating in autumn, 2007. | |||||||||
