We can find the cause in American religion, Puritanism, which originated in the Reformation in Northern Europe. Especially in American Puritanism, human history of salvation and damnation has been interpreted as a very secular one quite peculiar to America due to their translation of the Calvinistic idea of predestination that eternal life is foreordained for some and eternal damnation for others, and this deeply affects professional ethics in the American mind. Prosperity has allured increasing numbers of immigrants of various races from all over the world, which has led to the creation of American democracy.
